Burglary Insurance Policy

Introduction

Welcome to the Burglary page of our site. This provides a brief outline of the cover we have under this policy.

What does the policy cover?

This policy covers USP property stolen due to forcible and violent entry into and out of any premises, owned or occupied by USP.

Why do we have this policy?

The policy covers the property against loss/damage by burglary. It also covers damage to premises caused by burglars during burglary or attempts at burglary subject to the limit of sum insured.

What are we insured for?

Reporting incidents

How do I report incidents insured under the “Burglary” policy?

  • On campus: Report the incident to USP Campus Security or your Regional Campus Director. They will arrange any police reporting as per the USP policy.
  • Off campus: You should report any theft to the police and your USP departments as per USP policy.

How do I submit details for any claim?

  • Report incidents to the Risk and Insurance Unit immediately. After business hours, the incident must be notified on the next business day.
  • The Risk and Insurance Unit will review if we are eligible to claim. The Unit will provide you with a list of required documents. You will also be given a deadline for submitting them. This deadline must be met. Insurers set strict deadlines on receiving claim information. Settlements also require compliance with policy terms and conditions on providing information.
